There are so many cool parts to this trade. The Wizards want to be good! Gortat gets to start on a good team! Emeka gets the best rehab staff in the league! How far has Kendall Marshall fallen? I Love Trades.
The Wizards are baffling to me in the best way. They really want to be good, but they've tried this before with Gilbert Arenas and Rashard Lewis. The difference this time is that they might actually be good. Wall, Beal, Webster, Nene and Gortat is a solid starting five, and they have so much potential behind that. Otto Porter Jr., Glen Rice Jr., Kendall Marshall, Jan Vesely, Chris Singleton, Kevin Seraphin, even Eric Maynor all have either brilliant flashes or a strong pedigree and at least half of them should become role players at worst. If everything breaks right, they could challenge for the top half of the East, which would be so cool if they were still the Bullets. Regardless, this team has a ton of potential and this trade makes them a much more interesting team to watch this year.
